Trending: TV Inspired Fashion

I’m a tv show fanatic.  You guys know this to be true.  So, when clothing is inspired by my favorite show or directly created from an iconic character, I’m all in.  Turns out Christian Louboutin agrees.  He created a handbag directly inspired by the 90’s show Twin Peaks.

This got me thinking.  If this is possible, then how bout a few other great fashion moments making their way into my closet?  I wouldn’t say no…I know that much to be true!  So here goes, designers who always read my mind (hahahah I love to accuse them of doing that, so here’s my chance!), please read the following and do as I ask.  Because, well, clearly I have that much influence… ;)

Elle Woods at Harvard

I don’t know about you, but I feel like my I.Q. would go up just wearing this outfit.    I love how smart AND chic this whole get up is.  I’d love an Elle Woods inspired closet, to be quite honest.  Why not?  She’s the best.

Reign.  All of it.

If you guys haven’t seen the show, imagine if Free People did medieval costuming.  Yes, it’s THAT gorgeous.  It’s remarkably hard to find any photos of the insanely beautiful Yael Grobglass in her costumes, but I would love to have a few things inspired by her wardrobe!

Good Girls Revolt.  Yes, please.

You guys, this show is SO GOOD.  And Patti’s outfits are the BEST.  I’m halfway there on this because I own those boots, but hey, how about a “Patti inspired” line?  I’m down.  Oh, and can I please have her hair too?

Serena on Gossip Girl, because she wears all the gold.

Okay, okay, I see it.  I have a small, teensy, tiny obsession with blonde hair you guys.  I have just realized that all the women I chose are blonde.  I USED TO BE BLONDE AND I MISS IT, OKAY??  I’m SORRY!!  But let’s get real…IS SHE a unicorn?  I’m quite sure that she is not real, and that dress…oh that dress.  Can I wear it please?  She wore gold gowns so often and this whole get up, is, well, golden to use a bad pun.

And now, I look forward to accusing people of reading my mind and then promptly buying all of it.  Especially that solid gold gown, because I could so grocery shop in that.

Trending: Friday Five Roundup

HAPPY FRIDAY!  Get yourself a glass of wine or a cup of tea and rejoice, because the weekend is finally upon us!  And now, for some mindless enjoyment to start off the weekend! read my mind for 2017 trends.

I know, I know.  My accusations of “so and so read my mind” abound freely, but SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS, I was gonna do a post on my predictions for 2017, but they just went ahead and did it for me.  Oh well.  At least we agree right?

Finally, FINALLY I can binge on Good Girls Revolt.

I watched the premiere over a year ago, and I was RIVETED.  I have been eagerly awaiting the rest of this show for so long it seems, and it’s FINALLY HERE!!!  If you haven’t seen this show, it’s so worth it.  It’s like Mad Men…but with women as the main characters!  Plus, the STYLE is incredible!

To answer the question: “where have all the new shows gone?” I think maybe the answer is…TBS.

As you know, I’m a tv show fanatic, and with all the new streaming mediums that television shows have available these days, it seems that my cable box has been, shall we say, light on the new shows this year.  But now I’m seeing some interesting new shows appear on TBS of all stations…People of Earth…Search Party…I think these babies are worth checking out at the very least!

I’m all about the healthy stuff, and this healthy stuff is beyond delicious.

I discovered that has a site called “glow” and it’s nothing but quick easy recipes that are made with real ingredients, some of them vegan, and all of them completely delicious.  Like this pumpkin nice-cream (if you haven’t tried nice-cream, it’s delicious) that is a super healthy swap for a refined sugar laden slice of pie.

If you’re not trick-or-treating this Halloween, here’s what’s on TV to keep you busy while you wait for tiny humans to invade your privacy and ask you for free candy.

And there it is, all the Halloween goodness in a lineup for Monday night!  Hope your costume is all ready (if your costume is jammies, that’s cool too) and your bowl of candy is full (and not getting raided too much ahead of time)!

Happy weekend!

Trending: Upcoming Fall Shows

The end of summer means one thing to me (besides pumpkin spice lattes, obvi): FALL TV!  Oh how the long warm days filled with the barbecues and beach trips (or in my case more like sweaty toddler wrangling trips to Target) have been nice, but nothing, NOTHING floats my boat like new fall tv.  Yes, I will wholeheartedly admit that I love my tv shows.  And checking out new shows is a whole new set of fun!  Which ones will I FALL in love with (hehe I have GOT to stop with these puns)?  Which ones will be giant disappointments and end up in the “hey remember that one show that lasted like two episodes?” category?  We just won’t know until it all starts up in a couple of weeks!  Now, while I do love quite a few shows, I’m quite discriminating on which shows I do watch (if you’ve read my post on movies, you have probably already guessed this)…so…yeah.  I’m a choosy person when it comes to my entertainment :)

Let’s talk new shows.  The elusive, to be determined, unwatched premieres of fall 2016.  I feel like some dramatic music should play right now…these are the shows I’m most excited to check out and hopefully welcome to my family of favorites!

This show is described as “an unlikely trio traveling through time to battle unknown criminals in order to protect history as we know it.”  Um, yes please.  Plus, the vintage fashion that I’m seeing in the previews is a MAJOR bonus.

Piper Perabo.  Should I go on?  This new crime/legal drama looks like it has major promise.  And Piper Perabo.

The Good Place
So…I think Kristen Bell and I could be BFF’s.  She loves sloths to the point of tears, I have weird emotional affinities towards bizarre animals too…she’s quirky and funny and likes to make homemade music videos…I just love the girl.  So her new show is most definitely my top most anticipated new comedy of the season.

The Perfectionists
I can’t talk about the fact that Pretty Little Liars is ending after this next season.  I can’t talk about it, you guys.  It’s too emotional.  So, the fact that I. Marlene King (PLL producer) is doing yet another Sara Shepard book (PLL books author) on ABC Family…gives me hope for a new show about girls harboring secrets.  I’m a sucker for a great teen mystery.  I just can’t help myself!

Good Girls Revolt
Okay, have you seen the premiere episode of this AMAZING new show on Amazon yet?  I am RIVETED.  60’s fashion?  Check.  Women in journalism?  Check.  Great writing?  Check.  Girl power?  Check!  SLAM DUNK!  New episodes are starting soon and IT’S ABOUT TIME!!

I’m looking forward to my returning favorites as well like Grimm, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, Teen Wolf, Jane the Virgin, iZombie, and so many more…ahhhhhh yes.  Pumpkin spice and my tv shows are nice!  I love fall so much :)
