It’s Friday!  Oh wait…I have kids…so what does this all mean?  Whether you are Netflixing, mom-ing, or working for the weekend, we could all use a few fun things to start off our weekend right.  I’ll try to roundup some interesting and happy thoughts for ya ;)

Juicy Couture, How I’ve Missed You (get outta my closet and onto my body)

You’re either gonna love me or hate me for my closeted Juicy love.  I got all my old Juicy’s in a box (and I may buy them at thrift stores when I see them…) and I’ve just been ITCHING to bust them out again.  Thanks to this popsugar article I feel like I’m not alone.  Also, regardless of how you feel about the iconic tracksuits, if you haven’t read the book by the creators of Juicy, “The Glitter Plan“, please do so.  It’s one of my favorite books ever and fashion lovers out there will enjoy the heck outta that book.

Target Makes More Clothes That Don’t Look Like They’re From Target

I mean, they just get better and better.  And while I obviously prefer to buy handmade or from a small company or individual, the reality is we all gonna buy stuff from Target now and then.

Like THESE pants, which I clearly *need*.

And THESE booties, because like, are you for reals that these are from Target??

New Netflix Shows About Fashion.  Yes, Please.

I have no knowledge of the book this is based on, full disclosure.  However, anytime there’s a new show about fashion or the fashion industry, I will watch it! Plus, I want that outfit.  Obvi.  Until this comes out, I’ll be checking out Versailles on Netflix, since I’m having withdrawls after finishing The Crown.

Major Shoutout To The Savior of My Kid’s Lunches

My kids aren’t allowed to bring any kind of peanut or nut butter into their classroom, and when your kids are so picky like my kids are…this can be a majorly stressful restriction!  Thank my lucky stars, I got them hooked on Sunbutter as well as peanut butter.

I put it on their crackers, I make sunbutter balls with honey and oats and chocolate chips…just beware that you must INFORM the teacher that your child has sunbutter, otherwise you may get a phone call halfway through the day (speaking from personal experience!).

Who’s Grammy Performance Will Bring The House Down?

My money’s on Gaga, because I’ve never seen her do anything halfway and after that Super Bowl flying off the stage stunt I think she’s the sure fire winner of “most amazing and riveting performance”.  See for yourself who’s gonna rock the house this weekend.

Cool Copying: Leopard. Again.

Do you ever see an outfit and just kind of get obsessed with it?  Like, you see a picture of an ensemble, and it’s all you can think about.  You look at it and can almost feel how amazing it would feel on your body.  What?  No that never happens to me!  JUST KIDDING!  (Insert string of laughing till their crying emojis here).

This happens to me…more than I care to admit.  Sometimes we will be out shopping and my son will see a toy, and literally talk about it for days, and almost nothing else.  While it’s easy to find this annoying and all as a parent, I completely understand how he feels!  It’s like this part of your brain that sees something, and triggers this reaction where you think: “if I just got that one THING my life would be complete…”  (Again, insert hilarious laughter emojis because we know how untrue this feeling is!)  So yeah, I get how he feels.  I’m an adult, (I think?) so I know logically now that stuff obviously doesn’t make me happy per say, and that there will always be another “thing/outfit” that makes me feel this same level of obsession.  All that to say, instead of obsessing like crazy and then spending obscene amounts of money just to have something I need, I’ve started a list.

Now, when I see something that triggers that “I need” part of my brain, I’ve started a little list of things that I’m watching out for.  Then, what happens is after a few days of looking, I either sort of forget or change my mind about whatever it is I’m hunting for, I decide to invest a decent amount of money on it because I’ve realized it will be worth it, OR I decide to hold out till I find it for a steal.  This has become a good system for me because it helps out my tendencies towards an obsessive brain!

I was reading through my daily news (all style related of course!) and I came across this outfit on Who What Wear.

Let’s be honest.  There’s Gucci in it, which of course makes me want it.  But the principle of the outfit is simple.  Slip dress, graphic tee, slides.  I have done stuff like this before, but something about this combo is like just enough vintage, just enough Los Angeles cool, and just enough easy to make me need it.  So, I started shopping for a leopard slip dress.  If you look at the actual links to this outfit, you will see that it costs quite a pretty penny.  I’m not opposed to that.  However, besides the Gucci, nothing in this outfit is…not repeatable.  I found a slip on Poshmark for $4 you guys.  So…just saying, sometimes feeding your item/outfit obsession isn’t that bad!

See what I did there?  I took a vintage graphic tee, a second hand leopard slip (these are rather plentiful you guys), and a pair of slides (not Gucci, but I WILL GET THERE!), and done.  I done copied this outfit, y’all.  I could have spent $200 on a leopard slip dress.  That would have been fine.  But the difference is, the dress I got for $4 is basically the same thing as this one.  This is different than, obsessing over a Gucci bag.  (which I am, can you tell?)  There may be no substitute for that one item, so you gotta shell out the big bucks.  But it pays to know the difference right?

Go forth, and copy.  It is, after all, the highest form of flattery!

Trending: Friday Five Roundup

Once again, it’s that glorious of all days, the one that signals that THE WEEKEND IS NIGH!  I’ve decided that no matter what everyone’s been talking about this past week (Brangelina) that I’m going to pick the things that I find most fun, interesting, and hopefully uplifting!  Because, it’s Friday.  Ain’t no one wanna talk about political debates and celeb splits!

Who What Wear is once again, reading my mind and ripping off my ideas by tweeting out what the next big style trend is.

Miley Cyrus wore this on the premiere of The Voice, leaving us with a lot of questions.  Predominantly, what? and why?

Either way, it’s weird, but happy, so I’m cool with it.

I just learned the hottest chip in the world comes one to a package, and it’s taunting me.  I feel like its very existence is daring me to try it.

It’s also non GMO.  So it’s…good for you?

Kim Kardashian wore a Juicy Tracksuit in a photo shoot for Wonderland magazine.  You guys, I’ve been waiting for the return of the Juicy velour tracksuit for a long time now.  There’s a box of those gems just sitting in my closet, waiting for their re-debut into society.

I’m not what you’d call a “Kim Kardashian fan”, so this simultaneously excites me and leaves me screaming noooooooooooo!  I had hoped it would be someone ELSE bringing them back, but let’s get real here.  It was most likely gonna be her to do it anyway, so I may as well just get used to the feeling of actually liking what she’s wearing!

Turmeric is finally popular.  We go through tons of this superfood in our house (we are curry people and we love our superfoods!) and after dying all of our dishes neon yellow, now there are new and exciting ways to consume it!

This turmeric milkshake looks delicious and I’ll be testing it out in a jiffy!
